Over the past ten years, David Giles has brought artists such as Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, Michael Bolton, Blondie, The Gypsy Kings, Kool & the Gang and Earth, Wind & Fire to Marbella, with the Puente Romano tennis club forming the setting for many a classic, balmy summer night. The annual season of events has become a part of the Marbella social calendar, and while the town has in recent years become the scene of a full summer of musical events, David and his business partner Martin Tye believe there is a gap in the market for more affordable events that also incorporate the option of a very special VIP Rock Lounge experience.
“Our concept has always been to bring top acts to special parts of the world where people gather to enjoy themselves in style,” says David, and I think we have delivered on that.” From tens of thousands thronged on the beaches of Miami on New Year’s Eve to select hospitality gatherings, he has matched the concept to the occasion, while remaining true to the dual mission of providing affordable concert tickets and a top notch VIP experience. “At the higher end of the market, particularly in places like Palma, Marbella and Abu Dhabi, it entails enjoying a special experience, and we have created those in a heady, luxurious environment with superb hospitality.”
As Martin quotes, “It’s only Rock & Roll but we like it,” and that’s a sentiment shared by many, including the thousands who have enjoyed Rock Lounge concerts over the years and the thousands who will be doing so again next summer. “Our season starts in July and runs through to the end of August,” says David, by which time we will have presented a full calendar of top name concerts in Marbella, Palma de Mallorca, the Costa Blanca and in the Algarve.”
The first big name to be confirmed for next season is Simply Red, who wooed not only the crowds at the last Rock Lounge concert in Palma, but also the then Crown Prince Felipe and Princess Leticia, as well as Boris Becker, Steve Macmanaman and other international celebrities. “We are going to attract great acts,” says Martin, “and present a variety of stunning venues that suit each performer and occasion, bringing together thousands of music lovers and offering premium hospitality including pre and post-event entertainment.” With at least three big name concerts scheduled for the Marbella area next season and two for Palma de Mallorca, we can look forward to a fruitful new musical partnership for a sizzling hot summer of 2016
Crazy Music Productions, is fast becoming known as one of the best concert Promotion companies on the Costa del Sol. The name may be relatively new to the ear, but the history behind it is not.
Director, David Giles and members of his team, have been producing some of the most successful events in Spain since the nineties. Artists such as Joe Cocker, Rod Stewart, Van Morrison and Deep Purple have all performed spectacular concerts in a variety of diverse venues from Estepona through to Mallorca.
The company was created in 2012, combining the years of Promotional expertise of David Giles, with the business acumen of his partner, Martin Tye, a very successful UK businessman. Though they have hailed from very different backgrounds, their aim is to provide the best entertainment to their customers.
The common factor between the two partners, is their passion for music and their love of Marbella. Both are avid music fans and when not being involved on the promotional side, will often attend concerts and festivals to see their favourite artists perform – without the stress of being Promoters.
In 2016, Crazy Music Productions received acclaim for their organisation of the Seal concert in Tennis Club of the Puente Romano Hotel, a huge success, much enjoyed by the members of the sell-out audience. Our use of the Tennis club provides the perfect venue for the blend of luxury VIP seating combined with reasonable priced GA tickets, that Crazy Music endeavour to provide in order to appeal to and entertain a wide ranging clientele.
Crazy Music also produced two concerts with the iconic British band Simply Red. In conjunction with the Town Hall of Fuengirola, they organised the first International act to perform in the grounds of the Sohail Castle. Then followed with a second concert in the majestic bullring in Palma, Mallorca, both hailed as outstanding events by both public and press alike.
Crazy Music will continue to provide quality entertainment for all audiences.
